Jaipur, Oct 11: A Rajasthan resident, Mangat Singh, has been remanded to three days of police custody by a special court in Jaipur after being arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.

Special Public Prosecutor Sudesh Kumar confirmed that Singh, a resident of Govindgarh in Alwar district, was booked under the Official Secrets Act for reportedly sharing sensitive strategic information with Pakistani handlers.

Authorities say Singh posed as a "Siddha Purusha" (enlightened man), using religious pretence to gain the trust of locals and extort money through supposed spiritual rituals. Widely known in the Alwar region, his activities had been under surveillance for several months.
