TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A fatal crash is blocking one of the westbound lanes of I-4 in Dover, causing a serious slowdown on the way into Tampa.
The crash was first reported at around 10:50 a.m. on Saturday near the ramp from Branch Forbes Road. All lanes were blocked for around two hours before all but the right lane were reopened.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a 54-year-old Apopka man had a medical emergency and lost control of the SUV he was driving.
The car went off the road, overturned and ended up in the tree line. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
