Police across Quebec are increasing road patrols and enforcement this Thanksgiving long weekend, targeting distracted and reckless driving.

In collaboration with the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), the coordinated national operation targeting distracted driving and reckless behaviour runs from Oct. 10 to 16.

This year, “special attention will be given to heavy vehicles committing infractions,” the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said in a statement, noting that “several control operations” took place on Friday.
