These words from Anthony Albanese, who after meeting His Majesty the King at Balmoral Castle, publicly ruled out a referendum to institute an Australian republic during his second term.
Albanese has made a judicious decision.
And it’s a decision he can, and should, expound upon further.
At Labor’s next National Conference, let our prime minister call for the party he leads to scrap this subtle entry from its National Platform:
