MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A 19-year-old Memphis man pleaded guilty to charges related to the death of a Memphis Police officer.

MPD Officer Joseph McKinney and 18-year-old suspect Jaylen Lobley both died during a shootout on Friday, April 12, 2024. McKinney may have been struck by a bullet fired from another officer, according to the Shelby County District Attorney's Office. Memphis Police said that one of the men fired a shot when officers approached the two suspects in a stolen car.
