WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. - The City of West Memphis announced Friday that it has been awarded a $1 million grant for the purchase of a new Mobile Command Center.

Officials said this new specialized vehicle would serve Police, Fire, and Utilities across the city, giving first responders the ability to manage major incidents and emergencies directly from the site with advanced technology and communications tools.

Key features of the Mobile Command Center include:

29.5-foot Freightliner M2 chassis

Built-in conference room

Two-position dispatch center

Restroom and secure operations area

Full emergency lighting and siren system

Advanced communications equipment
