MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A new state-of-the-art wastewater facility is on its way to Southwest Memphis, built and paid for by Elon Musk's xAI company.

City and company leaders broke ground on the facility Friday.

"As a team, we began to study how we could use the world's largest supercomputer. We knew there had to be a better way when tapping into natural resources and remain true to being good stewards of the environment," said xAI General Manager Brent Mayo.

xAI began operations more than a year ago in Southwest Memphis. The facility has been using its own recycled water system to minimize impact on MLGW and the water supply. But now, the project manager said they're breaking ground on a new facility.
