EAST LANSING – For the second week in a row, Aidan Chiles had to go to the sideline injured after taking a big hit.

This time the Michigan State quarterback didn’t return.

Chiles took a helmet-to-helmet shot on the opening drive of the third quarter and missed the rest of Saturday’s 38-13 loss against UCLA .

“He got banged pretty good at the start of the third,” coach Jonathan Smith said, “and wasn’t available the rest of time.”

After being looked at by trainers while down on the field, Chiles was taken to the injury tent and emerged without a helmet while wearing a towel on his head as Alessio Milivojevic took over the rest of the way. The injury occurred when Chiles was scrambling and he spun around to take a helmet-to-helmet shot from 320-pound defensive tackle Keanu Williams. The
