Traverse City Police Department opens downtown substation on West State Street

TRAVERSE CITY— The Traverse City Police Department opened a new downtown substation Friday, at 128 West State Street.

The substation will serve as a permanent space for officer Jonathan Culver, the Downtown Community Policing Officer funded by the DDA.

Police Chief Matthew Richmond said “with the new substation, the community will see more officers in and around the downtown district. I believe this latest addition to the Traverse City Police Department will enhance the trust and legitimacy we have built within the community.”
