Volunteers are gathering at Starks Park for a community cleanup organized by Tulsa Parks. Work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with projects that include tree work, power washing, trash pickup and light painting.

The parks director said volunteer events provide needed services and help connect neighbors. The department relies on community efforts to keep parks across Tulsa clean and safe.

Tulsa Parks is looking for about 20 volunteers this morning. The cleanup runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Starks Park near Pine and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Participants can arrive on site to join the effort.
