WAYNESVILLE – Pisgah senior Landon Pope felt the cramp in his leg as he landed after hurdling over Tuscola’s defensive line.
Maybe it was his 45 carries that wore out his legs. But as he bowled through a safety and burst from the defense with breakaway speed, still 60 yards to go on an 84-yard rushing touchdown that iced Pisgah’s 35-14 win in the Haywood County Clash on Oct. 10, his spirit clearly hadn’t been worn out at all .
