SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) -- Downtown Salem was busier than usual on Saturday for its annual Quakerfest.
The Salem Chamber of Commerce organizes the event. Local organizations put up tents along East State Street to engage with the community.
Quakerfest has been a yearly staple in downtown Salem for over 10 years.
"It creates a sense of community, getting our vendors and our local businesses engaged with our community and just an outreach from our chamber to our area," said Alicia Johnson, executive director. "We have so many different varieties of folks that participate in this and it just gives something for everyone."
The Chamber of Commerce uses the event as a way to kick off the fall season. A list of their upcoming events can be found on the chamber's website.
