CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Ohio State football was banged up entering Saturday’s game at Illinois, but the Buckeyes avoided things getting worse in the victory.

Running back Bo Jackson did not get a carry after the nine-minute mark of the third quarter, and the FOX broadcast suggested the freshman suffered a lower-leg injury.

However, coach Ryan Day eased concerns postgame.

“He could’ve kept playing” had the contest been tighter, Day said.
