ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – On August 23, 2023, a well-known auto shop in Alderson sent its final invoice. Two years later, almost exactly to the date, the shop reopened on August 26, 2025.
“I started this business as a coal miner,” owner Brandon Burgess said. “I’d work on tires and vehicle repairs in the evening after work. When COVID happened and I got laid off in the mines, we opened full-time and did really well.”
After nearly 5 years in business, the shop closed due to a staffing shortage. “The guy that I was working with here at the shop needed a knee replacement and I had another business,” Burgess said. “We idled the tire shop and finally got enough people to run the other business because I couldn’t manage both myself.” Now back in business, B&E Tire & Repair hopes to continue provi
