GLOBE, Ariz. — As another powerful storm system moves into the area, the city of Globe is taking no chances. A dusk-to-dawn curfew is now in effect through Tuesday as officials and residents prepare for the possibility of more dangerous flooding.
The curfew begins in the northern part of the downtown area, where local businesses are still recovering from devastating floods that swept through just two weeks ago , claiming three lives and leaving a trail of destruction.
“I’m just praying that, you know, if it does come, we’re not going to be hit like we were before,” said Brenda Tyler, who owns an antique shop downtown.
Tyler said her shop was overwhelmed by water and mud that reached as high as five feet.
“Don’t want to go through cleaning up all that mud again,” she said.
