KENT, Ohio (WKBN) -- Kent State quarterback Dru DeShields piled up four touchdowns during the Flashes' 35-6 win over UMass at Dix Stadium on Saturday.
The West Branch graduate completed 10 of 18 passes for 148 yards and four touchdowns during the win.
DeShields connected on a 36-yard touchdown strike before adding another from 25-yards out as the Flashes took a 21-6 halftime lead. He would then come out and throw two more in the second half, including a 34-yard score to put the Flashes up 35-6.
Through five games, the redshirt sophomore has amassed 790 passing yards with nine touchdowns through the air and two more on the ground in five games of action.
The Flashes improve to 2-4 and will travel to take on Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 18 in a Mid-American Conference contest.
