JACKSON — Hundreds of community members came together on Saturday for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Horace Blackman Park, raising $28,000 to support research efforts in the fight against the progressive brain disease.
Alzheimer’s disease gradually impairs memory, thinking, and behavior, affecting millions of families across the country. The local fundraising event brought together participants from all walks of life, united in their commitment to finding a cure.
Sue Prynn, development manager and one of the event organizers, said the walk welcomes everyone regardless of their connection to the disease.
