A high school football player from Southern Indiana who was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis on Friday night after suffering an apparent injury to his neck and head is stable and resting with complete use of his extremities, South Spencer athletic director Jeremy Kuester said in a statement on Saturday from the school.

JaQuar Johnson, a sophomore lineman at South Spencer High School, sustained the injury during Friday night’s game at North Central (Farmersburg). The game was called off in the third quarter after Johnson was flown by helicopter from the football field in Farmersburg to Indianapolis.
