SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Members of the community gathered at Lake Mayer Saturday in support of Visual Impairment Awareness.
The Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision held a one-mile fundraiser walk at Lake Mayer Park Saturday afternoon.
The event, called “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” celebrates strength and independence for those living with blindness or visual impairments in the Southeast Georgia area.
“We are out here today observing National White Cane Safety Day and this is our event ‘Walk a Mile In My Shoes,’” said Social Services Assistant for Savannah CBLV, Jessica Adger. “Of course all the proceeds that have been raised here today go back into services for our future clients here at the Center being that we are a non-profit organization so we have an amazing group of people out
