Last Sunday, after the Toronto Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series, manager John Schneider praised the atmosphere at Rogers Centre.

“You have to be here to understand it,” Schneider told reporters in his post-game press conference. “From a couple hours before the game, they’re here supporting us. It’s something this group does not take lightly … that we’re playing for a country. It’s really evident that they’re here supporting us.”

Schneider said the fans made Rogers Centre “a tough place for (opposing teams) to come in and play” and said that gave Toronto a “competitive advantage.”
