COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Moments after the Nebraska football team soaked in the postgame joy of a hard-fought Big Ten win, its head coach might have hoped to bring the Huskers back to reality.
“Did we have to be in that position?” Matt Rhule said of his message to the team following Nebraska’s 34-31 victory over Maryland.
“With that being said, we scored 10 points in the final seven minutes. That’s what winning teams do.”
If not for committing an early turnover on downs, throwing three interceptions and allowing several explosive plays on defense, Nebraska might have earned its way to an easier win on Saturday.
