The biggest sporting event in the world, FIFA World Cup, is bringing some of the action to Vancouver next year, and a Victoria businesses expect to benefit from the massive influx of tourists.

“The greatest event in history. In 2026, we’ll bring the world together. Three countries, sixteen cities,” states the FIFA 2026 World Cup promo video.

And there’s no question the tourists are coming as well.

And they aren’t just expected to set their sights on Vancouver.

Bill Lewis, chair of the Hotel Association of Greater Victoria said the region has the capacity to take on the extra influx of visitors.
