A Stamford man was found dead in a submerged vehicle in the Connecticut River early Saturday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the area of Harbor Drive just before 7:30 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that drove into the river.

The Middletown Fire Department Dive Team and the Middletown Police Department Dive Team recovered the body of a man from the submerged vehicle, according to city officials.
The man has been identified by city officials as 51-year-old Gautam Ramesh Mirchandani, of Stamford. His vehicle was also recovered from the water.
The Middletown Police Department Major Investigations Unit is investigating. Anyone with information should call Detective D. Semper at (860) 638-4143.
