New Orleans District C Councilman Freddie King, III won reelection Saturday, besting three opponents to win the primary outright and secure a second term, according to a projection from WWL Louisiana.

King, an attorney and Democrat who lives in English Turn, campaigned on his first-term record, highlighting new recreational offerings and affordable housing that opened under his tenure, among other achievements.

At campaign forums, King’s opponents accused him of neglecting the east bank of his district.
