WASHINGTON TWP. – Xavier Solgot decided to make his move a little early.

No one went with him.

In a field of several talented seniors and juniors, it was the talented sophomore from Macomb L’Anse Creuse North that stole the show. Solgot laid the hammer down even before the first mile marker and gradually pulled away to win the annual Macomb County Championships individual crown, clocking in at 15:58.6 at Stony Creek Metropark Eastwood Beach Course.

Solgot, who was ninth last season as a freshman, was the sole runner to eclipse the 16-minute mark on this day and he won by just under 29 seconds.
