OXFORD, Miss. - The Washington State Cougars entered this morning's game at No. 4 Ole Miss as massive underdogs, but the scrappy Cougs rallied to fall by just three, 24-21.
Zevi Eckhaus performed well under the SEC pressure, throwing for 218 yards and two scores, again no turnovers.
Running back Kirby Vorhees had his best game of the season with 88 rushing yards, including a 46-yard dash to the endzone.
Wazzu led 7-0 after the first quarter, and again 14-10 before consecutive Trinidad Chambliss touchdowns put the Rebels up for the rest of the game.
The Cougs stick with Southern opponents, next traveling to the ACC's No. 19 Virginia Cavaliers for a 3:30 p.m. PST.
