A felony charge of child abuse against a Chimayó woman accused of leaving her young son in a vehicle while she was in a store was dropped about a week after the alleged incident last month in Santa Fe.
Margaret Wright, 38, said in an interview the account of the incident filed by police officers lacked details and context around what was ultimately “a moment of terrible judgment.”
Wright was arrested Sept. 19 after Santa Fe police responded to the Best Buy on Zafarano Drive to a report of a child locked in the car.
