Campbell used a dominant second-half performance to erase a halftime deficit and defeat Hampton 38-21 on Saturday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium. The Camels scored 28 points after the break, including 21 in the third quarter, to improve to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in Coastal Athletic Association play. Hampton fell to 2-5 and remains winless in the CAA at 0-3.
Hampton entered halftime with a 14-10 lead after capitalizing on a turnover and a long run from quarterback Braden Davis to set up two second-quarter touchdowns. But the Pirates were outscored 28-7 in the second half, as Campbell seized control behind a balanced offensive attack and key defensive plays.
Campbell opened the second half with back-to-back touchdown drives. JJ Cowan, who finished the day with 143 rushing yards and three touc
