Leading up to Auburn football’s game against Georgia, the team planned to use the running game to set up the passing attack.

The Tigers established the run game early rushing for 130 yards in the first half. However, they managed just 40 total yards of offense in the second half as Auburn’s passing attack was fairly stagnant in the 20-10 loss to the Bulldogs.

“They stopped the run. You know, we got popped on an interior pressure on one of the third downs. Then I thought we missed making plays on the others in the passing game,” Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said postgame. “But they started taking away the zone game. They’re big and strong, and our angles weren’t really good on the zone runs that we hit them with in the first half.”
