The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that conditions remain favourable for the further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from large parts of central and eastern India over the next two to three days.

This includes the remaining regions of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, along with the entire states of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

Partial withdrawal is also expected from areas of West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha and Telangana, IMD said in the weather bulletin.

According to the IMD, enhanced rainfall activity accompanied by isolated heavy showers is likely to persist across the southern peninsula for the next four to five days.
