FRANKLIN, Texas (KBTX) - The State of Texas is seeing an increase in stolen cattle reports. In Burleson County, the sheriff’s office said around a dozen were reported stolen from a local farmer’s land.
The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said it received work that 12 to 15 head of cattle were taken on Sept. 26. The sheriff’s office works closely with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) to help solve these crimes.
TSCRA Special Ranger Brent Mast told KBTX these problems impact farmers negatively.
“It’s a financial loss for anytime you get something stolen, especially if you don’t have insurance on it. You lose that money if that’s your livelihood,” Mast explained
Robertson County is another area that received several reports on missing cattle this year.
