Thursday's city council meeting became contentious over the prospect of allowing a request for proposals (RFP) from commercial airlines to provide passenger service between the Roswell Airport Center and Denver International Airport.
It was diverted to the city’s Legal Committee for review. Members of that committee will hold a special meeting on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall, 425 N. Richardson Ave., on the second floor. A council meeting will follow at 6 p.m., to vote on the RFP.
In an eventful meeting that lasted about five hours, one of the more difficult items for the council was the airport-related RFP. Some of the councilors pointed out that they hadn’t seen it before and wondered why. Almost right out of the gate, Councilor Edward Heldenbrand made a motion to approve the air se
