T he Queen Creek Town Council is scheduled to consider this week a permitting process for special events – including some on private property.
The proposed ordinance is on the agenda for the council’s meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, though the public session will be preceded by a closed-door meeting to again discuss “the agreement for purchase and sale of a lot of groundwater rights with Harquahala Valley landowners” in western Arizona.”
In addition to requiring a permit on town property for special events, the ordinance would also require one for events on private property that “would impact or disrupt traffic flow on public roadways or public access in or near the proposed location or along the event route.”
In a memo outlining the need for permitting, Police Chief Randy
