LIDO, Venice, Italy – Guillermo del Toro is, at 62, realizing his most cherished dream: His very personal version of Mary Shelley’s 1818 cautionary tale “Frankenstein.”

Mexico’s premier A-lister when it comes to monsters and horror, del Toro has long been obsessed with this story of a Creature (Jacob Elordi) created by the mad Dr. Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) who combines corpses and electrifies them to be “Alive!”
