Boston is set to kick off the coming week with a cold and windy storm system, before heading into a batch of gusty and chilly but dry late fall weather, according to National Weather Service forecasts.
“We’re dealing with a coastal storm which is impacting southern New England, ongoing right now,” said NWS meteorologist Andrew Loconto. “Impacts in the form of rain, breezy to gusty northeast winds, and some areas of coastal splash over from the high tides.”
Indigenous Peoples/Columbus Day is set to kick off the week with windswept rain and a high in the upper 50s as the storm system continues in the Boston region, forecasts show.
The day is “very far from anyone’s idea of an ideal” holiday, Loconto said, advising people to stay away from potentially dangerous high surf at the beaches. Wa
