The "silver bullet" Marcel Hug has done it again.
Widely considered the most dominant wheelchair marathoner of all time, Hug won the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, continuing his streak and further solidifying himself as the most decorated wheelchair marathoner in history.
Hug, of Switzerland, has won the Chicago Marathon six times now, continuing his dominance in the city after he set back-to-back course records in 2022 and 2023. The 2025 win marks his fourth consecutive victory in Chicago.
The 2025 race came without Hug's biggest Chicago challenger Daniel Romanchuk, who was forced to drop out at the last minute after an injury in Sydney.
Hug and Romanchuk have challenged each other in nearly every Chicago Marathon they have competed in and in several other global races.
