The Town of Palisade is putting the construction of its sewer line connection to Clifton back out to bid after initial bids came in much higher than expected.
Town Administrator Janet Hawkinson said the town received two bids for the construction of the sewer line that were both over $22 million. Hawkinson said, while the entire project will cost around $24 million, only about $11 million was expected for the construction itself. Other costs include the $6 million tap fee to connect to the Clifton Sanitation District, as well as design and engineering costs.
Hawkinson said the project is now going through “value engineering” with the intent of driving bids more in line with what the town had estimated the project would cost.
