PHOENIX — Westbound US 60 closed in Mesa Sunday morning due flooding after overnight rain and thunderstorms hit the Valley.
The highway closed at Val Vista Drive around 6:20 a.m., according the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The National Weather Service in Phoenix issued a flash flood warning for Mesa earlier in the morning.
There is currently no estimated time for when the freeway will reopen.
Eastbound US 60 was also previously closed due to standing water but has since reopened.
