DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WAFB) - Entering Saturday, Southern football had a 7-0 record against Bethune-Cookman. That undefeated streak is now over in emphatic fashion.

The Jaguars were blasted 45-14 for their fourth straight loss of the season. Southern (1-5, 0-2 SWAC) scored on their first play from scrimmage with a Cam’Ron McCoy 71-yard touchdown pass to Darren Morris. Bethune-Cookman responded with 38 unanswered points.

The Wildcats totaled 498 yards of offense with 32 first downs while possessing the ball for over 41 minutes. BCU also did not punt for the entire game.

Southern will host Prairie View A&M next week for homecoming. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at A.W. Mumford Stadium.
