BUSHNELL, Ill. (WGEM) - The Pigg family farm in McDonough County is celebrating 20 years of hosting the Bushnell Haunted House.
The haunted house, located at 20320 N 1700th Road in Bushnell, is a fundraiser for Scout Troop 343 and helps to send kids to camp every year.
Scouts help set up the haunted house, including the scream inducing scary parts.
The idea first began when Steve Pigg’s children wanted to go to scout camp, but didn’t want to sell popcorn and candy.
So far, Pigg said the money raised from the haunted house has sent more than 100 kids to camp.
“We really didn’t know. We thought it was worth a try and seeing how we’ve done, it’s done extremely well. We keep changing it up so people will want to come back every year, it’s a different theme each year, so it’s not the same
