MONROVIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two ball pythons were found abandoned in a crate just off the 210 Freeway in Monrovia.

The snakes were brought into the Pasadena Humane Society last week, and officials there said both of them were cold and thin. Both pythons are now recovering in their care.

"We're glad that these snakes were brought to us in time and are now receiving the care they need, but we know that their story could have easily become tragic if they had not been found," the non-profit organization said in a Facebook post.

This comes after another python was found at an In-N-Out in Monrovia . That snake, which has since been reunited with its owner, had escaped from its home in San Bernardino earlier this year.
