DIXIE COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - A shooting occurred in Dixie County Saturday night that left a deputy and the alleged suspect injured, per a Saturday night press release from the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said officers responded to a call of a man shooting at the building of a local bar at 3634 Northeast Highway 349. The bar located at that address is Old Town Tavern.

DCSO said no one was injured during that initial incident, but the shooter was still on the scene and armed when deputies arrived.

Deputies said the suspect then began shooting at the officers and ultimately hit a deputy. The suspect was also shot during that altercation.

While the deputy is reportedly in stable condition, the suspect’s condition is currently unclear.
