Some believe that when a beloved pet dies, they move on to cross a special resting place called the Rainbow Bridge.

To symbolize this, the Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial Garden was opened at Scott Park in Millcreek on Saturday as a way for pet owners to remember their cherished animals long after they are gone.

Debbie Garcia, founder, said, "My mom passed away last year. She was a big animal person. I wanted to do something in memory of her. I wanted to do something big that would also include money towards the shelter and in memory of my mom."

Anyone looking to remember their lost pet in a meaningful way can buy a custom engraved brick to be installed surrounding the bridge, with all money raised benefiting the ANNA Shelter.
