SALEM, N.H. —

One person was taken to the hospital after a fire in Salem on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The Salem Fire Department said around 3 p.m., they were called to a building fire and found smoke coming from 4 Spicket Lane.

Fire was found in the basement and was extinguished, authorities said.

One person with burns to the arms, face and back was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, and they are expected to survive, the fire department said.

After the fire was extinguished, fireworks were found that were possibly involved. The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office was contacted and is working on its investigation, the fire department said.
