VONORE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Emergency crews are searching for a missing boater in Vonore, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Tommy Jones said crews from several agencies, including MCSO’s Marine Unit, are searching for the boater near the Ball Play Boat Dock off Highway 360 in Vonore.

“We ask that the public avoid the search area to allow first responders to conduct operations safely and efficiently,” Jones said.

Jones said updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
