Officials quarantined two commercial duck farms after detecting bird flu in their flocks. The Indiana State Board of Animal Health quarantined 3,500 ducks at a meat duck farm in Elkhart County and more than 2,500 ducks at a breeder in LaGrange County. Authorities will depopulate the birds at both farms and allow restocking once tests show the virus is gone. Officials stress that properly cooked poultry is safe to eat.
