Kolkata: Stoking memories of the deadly incident at New Delhi railway station in February, at least 10 people were injured in a scary mishap at another station in the country.

This time, a stampede broke out at Bardhaman railway station on Sunday evening amid a heavy rush of passengers, Railways officials said. Six of the seriously injured persons, including men and women, have been admitted to Bardhaman Medical College and Hospital for treatment. ADVERTISEMENT

According to eyewitnesses, the stampede ensued at a time when three passengers trains were waiting on platform Nos 4, 6 and 7 simultaneously. In their hurry to catch their respective trains, passengers rushed up and down the stairs of the foot overbridge connecting platforms 4 and 6.
