BLOOMINGTON — Indiana footbal l is in uncharted territory.

The Hoosiers (6-0; 3-0 Big Ten) earned their highest-ever ranking in the US LBM Coaches Poll by moving up four sports to No. 3 and earning one first-place vote after pulling off an upset win, 30-20, over Oregon . They reached No. 5 last year after reaching 10-0 with a win over Michigan.

Indiana has only been ranked in the top 10 three times (2020, 2024 and 2025) since the poll’s inception in 1992.

This is the first time in program history that IU has earned a top 10 ranking in back-to-back seasons. The Hoosiers have been ranked nationally in both the coaches poll and AP Poll for a team-record 20 straight weeks going back to last season.
