RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue is helping people make their homes more fire safe in observance of Fire Prevention Month.

A green waste collection event is taking place throughout the weekend in Washoe Valley.

The drop-off location is at 850 Eastlake Blvd. in New Washoe City. It will remain open until 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
