Brighton Women's defender Maelys Mpome appears to be okay after being stretchered off with a worrying head injury against Arsenal.

The Women's Super League clash between the two sides at the Emirates Stadium was suspended for approximately ten minutes during the second half following the injury to Mpome.

She was then seen leaving the field in a head brace and wearing an oxygen mask before the match resumed. The Gunners went on to claim a 1-0 victory

Mpome was first treated on the pitch by medical staff before being moved on to a stretcher.

Fans inside the stadium gave Mpome a standing ovation as she left the pitch, with 13 minutes of stoppage time later added by the officials.
